A ceremony was held at MAKÜ to thank for publications in the Q1 and Q2 categories

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), in line with its approach prioritizing academic quality, organized a ceremony for academics who published in Q1 and Q2 categories in international indexes during the first 3 months of 2026. In the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to academics contributing to qualified scientific production.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the university has gained significant momentum in scientific production in recent years. Rector Dalgar, expressing that MAKÜ has achieved approximately a 50% increase in its publications in Q1 and Q2 categories in the Web of Science and Scopus databases as of 2025, allowing it to rise to first place among universities without a medical faculty in Turkey in terms of the increase in the number of publications, and to the top 5 among all state universities, said, "this success is the result of labor, patience, and determination spread over many years."

Rector Dalgar, stating that the BAP budget has been increased sevenfold in the last two years to support scientific research, also mentioned that new support mechanisms aimed at strengthening international collaborations have been implemented. Emphasizing that workplace harmony and team spirit at the university support scientific production, Rector Dalgar noted that qualified publications enhance the academic visibility of the university.

The program, covering the first 3 months of 2026 and planned to be held 4 times throughout the year, concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to academics publishing in Q1 and Q2 categories.
